PatriotismPatriotism. The very sonorous of the word brings to my heart feelings of loyalty andpride. I feel loyalty for my verdant and my countrys ideals, and I feel pride for thosebefore me who fought and sacrificed much for the freedom of my near country. I loveand honor my country. I feel a mavin of duty to this country that has been my home sincemy birth. As I turn the pages of our countrys history, I am inspired by those who givespoken out and fought against those who have threatened our countrys security andideals. Our forefathers had dreams of a nation with liberty and justice for al star. They gaveall they had, every single ounce of strength, to make that dream a reality. They waged contendagainst one of the most powerful empires of the time so that they could remain dependable totheir ideals. Martin Luther King Jr. was willing to lead a movement against requisitionin our nation. He had the heroism to tell our nation that its policy of segregation waswrong. To me, that is true nationalism not only being willing to urge for our country butwilling to try to change it so that our ideals be preserved. I implore upon you, the youthof America, to fight to keep the flame of patriotism alive. We are the authors of ourcountrys future. We mustiness dig dip inside ourselves and find the courage and determinationto dream of a greater and nobler country.
